Stir others up!

“let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.”  ~Hebrews 10:24

Do you know how to do that?  What are your strengths and how would you use them to stir others up?

Everyone is unique.  An important step in growing and becoming better is understanding who you are and what your strengths are.  These strengths are your strongest personality traits – the way you react to things in life.

A few years ago, I took a Gallup StrengthsFinder test to see what my top 5 strengths were.  I was a little puzzled with the initial results until I started reading the detailed descriptions of my 5 strengths.  It was like looking at myself in a mirror.

Example:  My top strength is Maximizer.  I get very fulfilled in taking something that is “good” to “great”.  I have never seen a glass half-empty or half-full – to me, it is under-utilized – a lot of potential.  But I get very frustrated and drained trying to fix something that is broken.

So for me, using my ability to see potential in others allows me to encourage differently than you would.  The combination of my different strengths work together to uniquely encourage people in a way that others aren’t able to.

Isn’t it interesting that God has designed us to stir each other up in different ways?

Read Hebrews 10:24 again, then consider these three questions:

1.  What does God want me to do today?

2.  How am I designed to accomplish it?

3.  What intentional steps will I take today to get it done?
