H8R part II

“If you are not criticized, you may not be doing much”  ~ Donald Rumsfeld

People love to hate Donald Rumsfeld.  I’m sure he had a lot of stories leading up to that quote.  He’s right.  If you want  to go through life making everyone happy, just do nothing.  Most of us learn this lesson by the time we get to middle school.  That’s why I’m amazed at a couple of things I’ve noticed in the show H8R:

1) a lot of the haters claim they’ve never been hated by anyone

2) these same haters seem to be dealing with a huge self esteem issue

These two facts just don’t seem to go together.  And that’s why I’m so intrigued by these people.  Maybe someday someone can explain it to me.

But here’s the big difference between some haters and others:  some hate the person and others hate the act.  Jesus told his disciples:

“But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck.” Mark 9:42

Every time Jesus spoke out against people, and he did it a lot, it was to criticize their sin.  So when you speak out, make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons.

If you’re doing things for the right reasons, watch out!  Someone’s gonna be takin’ a swing atchya.
